Trust Sweet Iron Pony Pelham, Locked

The Sweet Iron Pony Pelham is made by Trust and has a special variation of the jointed mouthpiece. When pressure is applied to the reins, the mouthpiece locks and becomes a straight bar. When the pressure is released, the mouthpiece turns back into a single-break mouthpiece, thus combining the effect of a bar bit and a single-break bit. The pelham side bit combines the action of a curb bit and a snaffle bit and should always be used with a chin chain to prevent too wide rotation in the horse's mouth. It can be ridden with one or two reins as desired and is therefore ideal for getting pony and rider used to a double bridle. Thanks to the Sweet Iron alloy, the mouthpiece promises a high level of acceptance, as it forms surface rust, which tastes sweet to ponies. It also stimulates salivation and chewing activity.

Note: When not in use, a thin orange-brown layer of rust will develop on the mouthpiece, this can be removed with a damp cloth and is not a quality defect!
