HS Sprenger Bemelmans Weymouth
This curb bit comes with a 5cm long underbeam, which minimizes the pressure on the neck. Due to the shortened lever, however, this curb requires a particularly sensitive rider's hand, as the aids arrive faster and more precisely. The high and wide tongue arch offers the tongue maximum space, which is further supported by the bar tapering towards the middle. In addition, the curb lies particularly gently in the mouth due to the sloped side parts and the bar which tapers forward, which promotes chewing activity and considerably increases well-being. Bemelman's curb bit adapts optimally to the space available in the mouth and distributes the pressure evenly over the tongue and chest. The horse's mouth is narrower where the curb bit is buckled in, which is why the curb bit should generally be 1/2 to 1 cm smaller than the underlay bridle.
It is important that the sides of the curb bit are close to the corners of the mouth.
The chin chain should be buckled in such a way that the curb bit can be accepted up to an angle of approx. 45°.
